What is the Recovery Audit Contract (RAC)?The Recovery Audit Contract, or RAC, is an audit performed to review Community Care payments to determine their accuracy and to recover overpayments.
How should debt notices from other recovery audit contractors be handled?Cotiviti can only assist with debt notices and audit results issued under the VA RAC program displayed in the provider portal. If you believe you received a notice in error or are unsure which program it relates to, please verify the letterhead, reference number, and contact information on the notice and reach out directly to the issuing contractor or the VA office identified on the document.
